What I collect, why I need it, and what I do with it. In plain English.

Last updated: 6 October 2026

The short version

  • I only collect what I need to reply to you, book your call and send Tea Room emails if you ask for it.
  • I never sell your details.
  • You can ask me to see, change or delete them at any time.

Who I am

Cut the Faff is Cut the Faff Ltd, run by me, Glen Mascall. Registered office: 36 Proclamation Avenue, Rothwell, NN14 6GY, UK. Company number 17502193, registered in England and Wales. The company decides how your details are used, which makes it the "controller" under UK data protection law.

Questions about your data: email me at hello@cutthefaff.co.uk.

Who else handles it

I use a few trusted services to run Cut the Faff. They only use your details to do their job for me:

  • A booking calendar, for your Faff Check.
  • My email and calendar provider, for my calendar and video calls.
  • A secure database, behind my back office.
  • A website host, which also protects this site and counts visits without cookies.
  • An email sending service, including for Tea Room emails.
  • An AI assistant, if AI helps me draft replies from your message.

Ask me and I'll tell you exactly who they are.

My database is stored in London. Some of these services may handle your details in the US. Where that happens, they're protected by safeguards UK law approves, like the UK-US data bridge or UK standard contract terms.

I never sell your details, and I never share them for anyone else's marketing.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries and bookings that don't lead to work: up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Client records: 6 years after the work ends, because UK tax rules say so.
  • Tea Room emails: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • show you what I hold about you,
  • correct it,
  • delete it,
  • stop or limit using it,
  • send it to you in a format you can take elsewhere.

If you gave consent, like for Tea Room emails, you can take it back at any time. Just email me at hello@cutthefaff.co.uk. I'll reply within one month.

Cookies

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. I count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies.

The booking calendar from Cal.com may set the cookies it needs to work. The fonts load from Fontshare and Google Fonts, which can see your IP address when they send the font.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, tell me first and I'll put it right.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this page

If I change how I use your details, I'll update this page and the date at the top.

At the end of the day, the owner sits on the quayside steps with a mug of tea, looking across the water at their Digital Home.
